Following the successful completion of the award winning Department of Transport and Planning’s (DTP) Ringwood workplace, peckvonhartel were tasked with upgrading their Spring Street workplace. Engaged in a staged, floor-by-floor approach, the works comprise 13,500m2 across 12 levels.

To support the employee’s Return to Office and consolidate staff from various metro facilities, DTP required an increase workstation capacity and increased support for hybrid working.

The project comprised re-space planning to accomodate an increase in occupancy from 70 workstations per floor to over 100, all within the confines of a heritage environment. This necessitated keeping built environment changes to kept to a minimum.

peckvonhartel proposed a strategy of re-use of both the lockers and workstations from the DTP Kew site, supplemented by additional pieces that met the standards set on the Ringwood workplace. This approach, along with a host of other smart design solutions, brought the project in 20% under budget.
